Guernsey had 5 junior players who qualified and travelled to the Hampshire junior championship for ages 12-14 played at Alresford Golf Club.
The competition was played in a stableford format with prizes for gross and handicap corrected scores in each age category. The total field size was 30 with 20% of the entries coming from the Channel Islands.
Funding towards the trip was kindly provided by the Ray Lowe Sporting Foundation, Sports Commission and the GGU.
All the juniors preformed very well, all achieving over 30 points on a new course.
Lewis Marley 36 points
Rory Mckenna 35 points
Conor Mckenna 35 points
James Troop 33 points
Max Raffray 31 points
The excellent scores for the Guernsey players, on a scrorching hot day, were reflected at the prize giving. Lewis Marley had the winning handicap score in the Under 14 category and Rory Mckenna was runner up in the Under 14 gross and handicap competitions. This is a fantastic set of results for the island and a big congratulations to Lewis and Rory.
