Many congratulations to Ollie Chedhomme who has been rewarded for his outstanding play this season by being selected for the Guernsey men’s team for the inter insular in Jersey in September. The sixteen year old has the lowest handicap (+3) in the Guernsey team and his recent performances have included a new men’s course record at La Grande Mare and a stunning 65 gross at L’ancresse.
Rory Mckenna narrowly missed out on selection this time and has been named as Reserve. Island Captain Dave Jeffery said he expects Rory and brother Conor to be pushing hard for selection next year. Rory has had a season to be proud of. He became Island Junior Boys Champion for the first time and a number of stand out performances included a superb 68 gross as he closes in on scratch for the first time.
Both boys are fantastic ambassadors for Junior Golf on the Island and we’re very proud of them.
