CHEDS & JAYDEN ON FIRE

Ollie Chedhomme is living the dream. The new La Grande Mare course record holder and the Island’s best player, is in the form of his life. After an incredible few weeks, he took his golf to yet another level with a magnificent 65 gross to win the scratch prize in the Rossborough Insurance St Julians Cup today. Ollie was out in 31 with birdies at the 1st, 6th, 7th and 9th. He followed that with a birdie at the 10th and his only blemish was a bogey on the next hole. He then birdied the 14th and came back in 34. There is so much golf ahead this season so who knows what this outstanding golfer will do next. He’s at a level now where he needs to be competing at Major Boys Championships in the UK and that will be very much part of the next stage of his development next year. In the meantime we should all celebrate his success and look forward to even more headlines.

Jayden Tucknott also had a fantastic day. His recent trip competing in the UK has clearly sharpened his skills and his superb 74 gross for 42 points featured 3 birdies and he was out in 36 and back in 38. He was just edged out of first place on countback but the consolation will be another handicap reduction and a round to be proud of.

Lewis Marley also had a terrific day, his 74 gross was his best score to date, for 39 points. He was out in 38 and came back in 36 with birdies on the 10th and 16th.
