LILY MCNEELA WINS THE ROYAL GUERNSEY GIRLS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Lily McNeela won the girls club championship yesterday scoring 33 points beating runner up Jennie Ballay by a point. A stunning power draw off the first tee leaving only a short pitch to the green signalled her intent and she never looked back in what was a solid display.

Lily is a talented ball striker and is definitely one to watch next season. Many congratulations Lily on a great achievement.

The competition wrapped up the season at L’ancresse and what a great one it has been for the girls. Club Captain Chloe Domaille defended her Island Championship and put in some superb displays as she moved closer to single figures. Jennie Ballay broke 80 for the first time with one of the rounds of the season highlighting her class. Chloe Gaudion had another season to remember with a new course record at La Grande Mare and also went sub 80 at L’ancresse for the first time as she reached single figures.

Next season promises to be an exciting one for the girls as they move in to the very top tier of the women’s game on the Island and we look forward to following their progress.
