It was a cracking day at L’ancresse yesterday and we saw some great golf again from an excellent field.
In the White Tee Marley Engraving Trophy, Lewis Marley successfully defended his title which was played for the first time last year. His excellent score of 40 points featured 11 pars. He was out in 39 and finished strongly again after a small blip on the 16th. Big hitting Lewis is in top form and is now off 11. There is much more to come from him this season.
Runner up was Rory Mckenna with a very well crafted 73 gross for 38 points. He was out in 37 and back in 36 with a birdie at the 14th. His game is in excellent shape and he will be looking forward to the next few weeks as he tries to get down to four and below.
In the Red Tee Rousse Trophy, in-form Chloe Domaille added to her silverware this season running out the winner with a terrific 38 points. She split the fairway on the first hole and never looked back. Her incredible run of form recently means she is now one of seven players within reach of single figures - what an exciting few weeks we have ahead. Runner up was Thomas Chamberlain with 34 points which was some effort having had his handicap decimated along with Joel Hoolahan following their brilliant rounds last Friday. Joel should be very happy with his 32 points too.
Theo Hollyer-Hill and Lewis O’Brien contested the blue tee competition. Both hit booming drives down the first and ending up within pitching distance of the green! They enjoyed a great tussle for the rest of the round with Theo eventually winning with 22 points edging out Lewis by one point. The boys continue to impress with their excellent attitude, quality of their golf and their love of the game. There is much more to come from them this season and more titanic battles ahead.
Next up we are back at L’ancresse for the Reuben Mahy and Cincinatti Cup on 20th September - Entry is open now
