After yesterday’s heavy rain the course was set up in excellent condition for the Junior Open supported by Petersfield Landscaping. Although the greens were receptive the field still had to contend with a tricky wind. Home player James Troop inspired by a trip to the Open earlier in the week took the honours with an excellent 39 points. He also earned a valuable 10 Ray Lowe Order of Merit points in the first event of a big double header Junior weekend of golf.Runner up for the second year in a row was Tanner Austin with 38 points. After a poor front nine, Tanner had a superb back nine of 23 points playing the testing last 6 holes in level par.
The golfing force that is Ollie Chedhomme is unstoppable at the moment and he shot a brilliant 67 gross to take the scratch prize.
In the 28 handicap and above category Oliver Farmer took the top spot with 35 points
and Oliver Chamberlain won the blue tee competition with 19 points.
