HURFORD & BOWMAKER CUPS - WINS FOR NOAH, JOSH & HARRY
HURFORD & BOWMAKER CUPS - WINS FOR NOAH, JOSH & HARRY
There was another impressive turnout on Sunday with 28 Juniors taking part in perfect conditions.
It’s fair to say Noah Davy has been on fire this season. He enjoyed an excellent winter fourball league with father Michel culminating in victory in the final earlier this month. He was also leading Junior in the Calais Rose Bowl and scooped first prize in the individual men’s stableford last Thursday. He continued his rich vein of form to win the Hurford Cup yesterday with an excellent score of 40 points. Noah was out in 43 and had an impressive 9 pars to win by two from Jamie Trebert.
‘Trebs’ has been working hard on his game and had birdies at the 2nd and 6th in addition to nine pars. He was back in 37 for a well crafted 38 points.
In the red tee Bowmaker Cup Josh Neville had a superb round scoring 40 points to take the victory. He was out in 49 and made an excellent birdie on the 13th. Runner up was Gus Carre with 38 points. He made a total of five pars and was back in 47. Lily McNeela was also under par with 37 points.
Three players lined up in the blue tee competition and yet again the scoring was fantastic. Harry Ingrouille stormed to his maiden victory with a stunning 29 points which included pars at the 3rd, 4th and 8th. Noah Millar will count himself very unlucky taking the runner up spot with 28 points. He also had three pars.
Next week we are at La Grande Mare for the Easter Cup, entry is open now.

NSV TROPHY & GORDON ROWLINSON CUP - WINS FOR TANNER, LEWIS O’BRIEN & CHARLIE
There was a great turnout for the first Junior Competition of the year with 30 juniors taking part.
In the NSV Trophy Tanner Austin recorded his maiden Junior White tee win at his home club with an excellent 41 points. Tanner was out in 36 and was still one over gross when he reached the 15th. After a blip on that hole he bounced back to finish strongly. His round featured birdies at the 2nd, 5th, 13th and 14th. Runner up was in form Jayden Tucknott with 37 points. He had a superb back nine coming back in 39 with a birdie on the 16th.
Fourteen juniors competed for the red tee Gordon Rowlinson Cup which was fantastic to see. Lewis O’Brien stormed to victory in what was his first competition off the red tees with a magnificent 48 points. After splitting the fairway on the first he never looked back and a wonderful 3 at the 18th was the icing on the cake after a brilliant back nine of 49. Runner up was Thomas Chamberlain who carried on his excellent form from last year. On any other day his 40 points would probably have been good enough to win but he’ll be pleased, particularly with his back 9 of 43 which included four pars.
In the 9 hole Blue Tee Competition there were four players including a welcome visitor Rory Clarke from St Pierre Park. The runaway winner was Charlie Czarnecki who overpowered the course with a quite extraordinary round to amass 35 points. Runner up Noah Miller had an excellent round scoring 26 points narrowly edging out Harry Ingrouille on countback.
A big thank you to our sponsor Altair and Guernsey Sport Photography for taking photos of the event. The pictures from the competition will be available to view soon.
Next Sunday we are back at L’ancresse for the Hurford and Bowmaker Cups and entry is open now.
