Lewis Marley has a habit of rising to the occasion and today he beat off very strong competition to land our flagship event - The Junior Open. Lewis scored 38 points and set up victory with 11 pars and two birdies, one at the 4th which seems to be his favourite hole at the moment, and crucially at the 18th. It was an excellent performance particularly on the back nine where he was back in 36 shots. Big hitting Lewis is a real talent, a serial winner and there is so much more to come from him, with lots of golf ahead this season - many congratulations on a fantastic win.
Runner up was Jamie Trebert who was just edged out on countback. It’s been great to see him come back into form and he will be delighted with another round sub 80 which included birdies at the 10th and 14th. A more relaxed approach to his golf is clearly paying dividends but he remains one of our most talented Juniors. In third place was Jayden Tucknott and Rory Mckenna scooped the scratch Prize.
The red tee Competition was hotly contested and the winner was Oliver Farmer with 39 points making seven pars along the way. Runner up was Alex Mills with another super round and Joel Hoolahan was also under par with 37 points - a fantastic effort.
A huge thank you to our incredibly generous sponsor Rihoy & Son! There were ten prizes on offer today and Managing Director Gavin Rihoy presented the prizes along with the Captain.
