It was another beautiful day at L’ancresse for the 7th event of the Ray Lowe Sporting Foundation Order of Merit and the great scoring of recent competitions continued.
In the Cressida Priaulx Cup Tanner Austin shot a superb 73 gross, his best round to date to score 43 points and take his second win of the season. His round featured 12 pars and birdies at the 6th and 13th. He was out in 37 and a 6 at the 15th was his only blemish on the back nine as he came back in 36. As a result, Tanner is now down to single figures for the first time.
Runner up was Max Raffray who scored an impressive 40 Points. His round featured 7 pars, he was out in 47 and back in 42. Dan Troop was third and will be delighted with his excellent 79 gross which featured 10 pars and a birdie at the 6th for a total of 37 points.
In the Nightingale Cup the standard of golf was quite extraordinary. Alex Mills was the winner with his best round to date, a brilliant 81 gross which featured 9 pars and birdies at the 5th, 15th and 17th. He was out in 42 and back in 39. His back nine included an 8 at the 15th but he then proceeded to play the last four holes two under par - an outstanding effort and testament to his ability and strength of character. Runner up was Josh Neville. He too had a great round scoring 43 points. Josh had a total of 6 pars and was out in 48 and back in 40. In third place was Lewis O’Brien with 36 points edging out Thomas Chamberlain on countback. The highlight of his round was a super par on the 13th.
In the Blue Tee competition Rory Clarke continued his dominance. His score of 27 points for nine holes was quite amazing. Rory made 3 pars and a fantastic birdie on the fourth hole. A big handicap reduction beckons!
Runner up was Charlie Czarnecki
