RAY LOWE ORDER OF MERIT WINNERS ARE CROWNED

Eighteen events on three different golf courses. Thirty three players aged from 8 to 16. The 2021 Ray Lowe Sporting Foundation Order was bigger and better than ever and showcased the extraordinary depth of junior golfing talent in Guernsey over a long season. The prizewinners were crowned last night at a great night at La Grande Mare Golf Club.

In the White Tee/Under 28 Handicap Category, Hampshire Junior Star Conor Mckenna was the deserved overall winner with 75 points accumulating five wins along the way. Some of his wins came in the toughest of conditions highlighting his quality and 2022 can’t some soon enough for one of our outstanding talents. Runner up with 69 points was Junior ‘Mr Golf’ Jayden Tucknott. He notched up one win and was runner up three times. It was a breakthrough year for one of the hardest workers in Junior Golf and he was rewarded with selection for the Hampshire U16 Squad in 2022. In third place was Chloe Gaudion with 63 points which included one win and four runner up spots. It was a season to remember for Chloe with highlights including breaking the women’s course record at La Grande Mare and becoming the Women’s Club Champion for the first time.

In the red tee category there was a tremendous three way battle over the course of the season. In the end Alex Mills ran out the winner with 77 points which included five wins highlighting his class. He pipped rising star Josh Neville by just two points. Josh had four wins and produced some fantastic scores along the way. In third place was ‘Mr Consistent’ Thomas Chamberlain. Incredibly he was runner up on eight occasions but his quality play was rewarded with selection for the Hampshire U14 Development Squad next season along with Alex Mills.

Winner in the Blue Tee category was Rory Clarke with an incredible 8 wins. He enjoyed a great battle with big hitting Charlie Czarnecki who can be very proud of his four wins. Both are exciting talents and will be looking forward to showcasing their skills in the red tee category next season.
