RORY AND JENNIE ARE JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONS

Conditions were excellent for the Junior Club Championships today.

In the boys competition, eight players took part. Daniel Troop shot the best score of the day with a superb 79 gross lead to lead by one after the first round from favourite Rory Mckenna. Junior Captain Ollie Parsons has got an excellent record in this event and his 81 was the only other nett score under par along with Daniel. After the ever popular carvery pit stop in the Clubhouse, the pressure was ramped up in the afternoon as the players went out in reverse order for the second round. Daniel and Rory enjoyed an excellent battle with Rory eventually coming out on top holing a clutch putt on 17 and matching his morning score which was good enough to take the title by seven shots from younger brother Conor who had a very solid afternoon. Ollie Parsons was third on countback. Huge Congratulations Rory from everyone in the Junior Section on yet another Boys Club Championship!

In the girls Championships four girls took part and it was great to see Lily McNeela competing again. The format was 18 holes stableford and in a close run affair Jennie Ballay emerged as Champion with an excellent 34 points just edging out Chloe Gaudion on countback. All the girls have enjoyed a brilliant season with big handicap reductions across the board and plenty of wins between them. Many Congratulations Jennie, Royal Guernsey Junior Girls Club Champion 2020.
